Latest update: 8 December 2022

I’m very lucky: I live in Amsterdam. So I get home quickly after an evening concert in the Ziggo Dome or AFAS Live or after a late football match in the Johan Cruijff Arena. But a hotel nearby is quite nice if you live a little further away! So these are your options near the event venues.

I have written down the distance to Arena Boulevard at each hotel. But, sometimes, a hotel is closer to the Ziggo Dome or AFAS Live than that. It depends on where you want to go. But at least now you have an idea!

easyHotel Arena Boulevard

The easyHotel Arena Boulevard belongs to the easyJet hotel chain. It is a simple hotel with clean, basic rooms. Not meant to stay for a week, but for an affordable overnight stay within crawling distance of the Ziggo Dome, Johan Cruijff Arena, and AFAS Live.

Distance to Arena Boulevard: You’re already there!
Where to book: directly with easyHotel or Booking.

Fletcher Hotel Amsterdam

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 3 kilometers. Rent a bike at the hotel, and you’ll be there in fifteen minutes.
Where to book: directly with Fletcher or Booking.

Holiday Inn Amsterdam – Arena Towers

The Holiday Inn Amsterdam – Arena Towers hotel is a four-star hotel. It is the more upscale sister or brother of the Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam – Arena Towers. From some rooms, you can even see the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 6 minutes walk.
Where to book: directly with Holiday Inn or Booking.

Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam – Arena Towers

This is Holiday Inn’s 3-star option. But as a guest of the Holiday Inn Express, you are allowed to use the facilities of the Holiday Inn. The rooms are simpler, and the hotel is more focused on self-service. There is one type of room, and it comes with a complimentary breakfast.

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 6 minutes walk.
Where to book: directly with Holiday Inn or Booking.

Villa Oldenhoff

If you decide to take your time before or after the concert day, I would absolutely go to Villa Oldenhoff. It is in Abcoude, so it is too far to walk. So you have to rent a bike at this B&B. Perfect, because then you can cycle through the beautiful rural surroundings the day before or after the match or concert.

Villa Oldenhoff is a luxurious bread & breakfast with beautiful rooms. I sleep in the attic room and hardly want to leave. The bed is comfy, the shower is huge, and that beautiful bathtub: wow! The B&B is close to Amsterdam, but I feel like I am in another world. The rooms are located on the horse stud farm with stables.

Remember to book the sauna too! You can use the private sauna with a view of the meadow for less than twenty euros for two hours.

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 25 minutes by bike.
Where to book: Booking.

Hampton by Hilton Amsterdam / Arena Boulevard

At the Hampton, by Hilton Amsterdam / Arena Boulevard hotel, you’ll be in the Ziggo Dome or AFAS Live in no time. It is also right next to Bijlmer Arena station. Another advantage: breakfast is already included in the price.

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 4 minutes walk.
Where to book: directly with Hilton or Booking.com.

a&o Amsterdam Zuidoost

a&o is a well-known hostel chain. Known for low prices, not necessarily the nicest rooms. In the hostel, you have shared dormitories and private rooms, and there are common areas where you can have a drink or chill.

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 10 minutes walk.
Where to book: Booking.

Jaz in the City

The Jaz in the City is an attractive hotel with nice, modern rooms. The bar is also cozy if you are not staying at the hotel. At this hotel, I would definitely check in on time and stay until the very last minute so that you fully enjoy the concert or match and everything the hotel offers.

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 6 minutes walk (but right next to the Ziggo Dome).
Where to book: Booking.

Joy Hotel

The Joy Hotel is very affordable. If you want to save even a little extra, you can choose a room without a window. What is also neat is that they have single occupancy rooms. The rooms are small but functional, which is fine. Because most of the time, you are in the Ziggo Dome, AFAS Live, or Johan Cruijff Arena. Fine option to just stay for a night and head back home.

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 14 minutes walk.
Where to book: Booking.

Courtyard Amsterdam Arena Atlas

The Courtyard hotel belongs to the Marriott chain. The rooms are pretty spacious and look neat and clean. The bar and restaurant are attractively decorated, but the online reviews about the restaurant could be more positive. Maybe just grab breakfast and go out for dinner?

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 7 minutes walk.
Where to book: Booking.

Hotel Levell

Hotel Levell is a three-star hotel with spacious rooms. All decorated with dark colors, which gives it a modern look. If you find it a bit too far to walk to the Arena or the Ziggo Dome, you can also rent a bicycle at the hotel.

Distance to Arena Boulevard: 16 minutes walk.
Where to book: Booking.

More travel inspiration for the Netherlands

  • Accommodation. Forever favorites: Booking.com and Campspace. Or try a holiday resort via Roompot. Rather stay in a hostel? Try HostelWorld. Something different: BoerenBed.
  • Activities. You book the best tours and activities with GetYourGuide and Viator. Another good option is WithLocals. Try a ‘free’ walking tour with Freetour or GuruWalk, and for bike tours, try Baja Bikes.
  • Attractions and museums. Get a 5% discount on museums and attractions via Tiqets with the coupon code KIMOPREIS22.
  • Car rental. My go-to car rental companies are EasyTerra and Sunny Cars as they have all-inclusive / worry-free offers. Compare more prices at Discover Cars.
  • Money. Your debit and credit cards may not get accepted everywhere. You could opt for a Revolut card as an additional card when you travel.
  • Package deals. Rather go on a catered trip? You have plenty of options. For the Dutch: ANWB vakanties or Tui, or maybe Vakantie Discounter or D-reizen?
  • Public transport. Use the regular public transport options or Flixbus, or find a bus, train, or something else on Busbud or Omio.
  • SIM card. Beware of unexpectedly high calling and internet costs. Buy a local SIM card when you arrive, or arrange one online via Airalo.
  • Travel gear. Buy your gear at Bever or Decathlon, or simply at Bol.com.
  • Travel guides. I love the practical travel guides from Lonely Planet, buy them at Bol.com and Amazon. I always enjoy seeing my own country through the eyes of foreign visitors.
  • Yoga retreat. Or try a yoga retreat in the Netherlands.
