Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Or at least, that’s what they say. And I’m perfectly fine with that because it’s a great excuse to spoil myself with breakfast in Berlin. So these are my breakfast tips in Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, and Mitte. Have a tasty start to your morning!

Breakfast spots in Berlin Friedrichshain

Cozys Coffee

You don’t have to go hungry at Boxhagener Platz. The area has many cafes and restaurants. One of them is Cozys Coffee. The menu includes various savory bowls, eggs benedict, and pancakes. T here are also healthy acai bowls and, of course, good coffee. It is not the cheapest place to have breakfast in Berlin, but the charming square makes up for that. Count on about a tenner for a breakfast dish.

Silo Coffee

At Silo Coffee, there is always a queue. And I can tell you it’s worth joining the line. Have your name written down on the waiting list and order a coffee at the bar. The menu is varied, and your plate is made with care. Silo is the perfect place for an anti-hangover breakfast. There are a few popular seats outside, but it is also nice to stay inside. You can enjoy breakfast all day long at Silo Coffee.

Macondo

Macondo’s decor is old-fashioned, and the food is Latin American. How this combination came about is a mystery to me. If you have been to Colombia and Mexico, for example, you will love it here: patacones, yuca frita, empanadas, and even lulo juice! My advice is to order the Mexican, Colombian, or Argentinian breakfast. After all, that’s Macondo’s specialty. You can get a German breakfast anywhere else.

Breakfast restaurants in Berlin Kreuzberg

Le Bon

When you’ve barely set foot in Le Bon, you already know you made a good decision. I am impressed by the high ceiling of Le Bon. It immediately feels atmospheric with just some super simple decoration and a lick of paint. Add a delicious breakfast, and I’m happy. You get good coffee and simple, tasty dishes. The menu is not particularly extensive but offers enough choice, from croissants to fried eggs.

You can come for brunch at Le Bon in Kreuzberg from Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday until 4:00 pm. Keep in mind that you have to wait a while for a table (and sometimes also for the service). It is a very popular breakfast spot. Trendy, but friendly. 😉

Parker Bowles

At Parker Bowles, you can enjoy dinner or drinks and a very extensive breakfast. Up to 4 pm! It is closed on Sundays, so keep that in mind when planning. Parker Bowles has a very industrial design with dark walls and many metal details. The outdoor seats are comfy too. The menu offers something for everyone: pudding with chia seeds for our health freaks and well-filled omelets for those who can use something hearty. It is a fusion restaurant, so you will also find Mexican and Asian influences on the menu and highly recommend it.

Tip: Grab abike, and you’ll be everywhere in no time! Berlin is a very bicycle-friendly city, so you can rent bicycles everywhere. Check Baja Bikes for bike rental and bike tours.

Nest

Sunday brunch is fantastic at Nest. Until four o’clock, there is an extensive brunch buffet to enjoy endlessly. Making a reservation is a must! The Sunday brunch is an excellent deal.

On weekdays you can have breakfast until 12 noon and on Saturdays until 2 pm. That’s when you choose from the menu. There are various egg dishes, yogurt with muesli, and simply delicious breads with toppings.

House Of Small Wonder

It’s a miracle if you bump into House of Small Wonder by accident. It is well hidden between the office buildings so you can easily walk past it. Although, if you just follow the tourists with a guidebook in hand… This little miracle has already been picked up by many. Yet it retains its charm. Upon entering, it is already a feast for the eyes: the staircase is beautiful! Full of plants, wood, and quirky decoration. This photo alone is worth popping by. Upstairs it is just as beautiful, and there is a relaxing atmosphere.

There’s a private lunch when I’m there, so we must eat our food within half an hour. Not ideal, but it’s the last day of my Berlin stay, so we quickly choose something from the menu. The dishes van House of Small Wonder are inspired by Japanese cuisine. The Japanese waitress adds to the experience.

Café Fleury

Café Fleury is a piece of France in Germany. The plates are simple: have a delicious baguette, an excellent croque monsieur, and tasty cheeses. The outdoor seats are on Weinbersweg, one of my favorite streets in Berlin. I wouldn’t go here for a coffee. Get that at another place on this street. Instead, stick to tea or juice for breakfast.

Daluma

Hello hip people! We’re all being so trendy here, haha. But who cares when the coffee is so good?! At Daluma, you can have a pleasant and healthy breakfast with all kinds of smoothie bowls with acai, chia, and superfoods that you don’t know the name of yet. Daluma is also a store where you can buy protein powder, facial care, and more.
