For the perfect sunset in Ibiza, you have to go to the west side of the island. It’s where you can experience this magical moment every day. So choose your favorite spot for the Ibiza sunset from these best sunset spots!
Sunset Ashram (Cala Conta)
Well, if the word sunset is even in the name of the famous café restaurant, then you know you’re in the right place. It is always busy here around sunset. You are welcome just to have a drink, but you can also stay for dinner.
If there is no place in the restaurant, then the beach of Cala Conta is not a punishment either. Or simply bring your drinks and bites and settle on the rocks to watch the sunset.
Chiringuito Cala Escondida (Cala Comte)
Near the Sunset Ashram is Chiringuito Cala Escondida. It’s slightly more low-key than Sunset Ashram. Order a cold beer or a pitcher of sangria and enjoy the sunset. It’s one of my favorite spots for Ibiza sunsets, as it feels a bit secluded, although more and more people have recently found the place.
Hostal La Torre (San Antoni)
Hostal La Torre lies on a beautiful rocky outcrop where you can enjoy a drink and the sunset. Note: this is a popular place for sunset in Ibiza. Reservations are required in the high season, or simply settle for a spot on the rocks. A lot of people do that anyway. They simply bring their own drinks and snacks.
Playa de Benirrás (Sant Joan)
The Benirrás beach is where the hippies come to drum on Sundays. That is a big, popular party, so come on time. Make sure you are already on the beach in the afternoon; otherwise, you will get stuck in traffic. Dancing on the beach while the sun sinks into the water, what more could you want? But, of course, you can also admire the sunset here on other days. You can see it slowly sinking behind the island off the coast (Cap Bernat).

Es Vedra / Cala d’Hort
Watching the Ibiza sunset at Es Vedra is rightly very popular. The rock island Es Vedra is famous for the many myths and stories: from UFOs to magnetic fields and from goddess Tanit to Shiva. You can watch the best Es Vedra sunset either from the Cala d’Hort beach or the lookout point opposite Es Vedra.

Sunset Strip in San Antoni
I’m not actually a fan of San Antoni at all. I think the sun-sea-booze vibe is a bit too much. But you can see the sunset perfectly here. Opt for the famous Café del Mar as your sunset spot, or bring your drink and sit on the rocks in front of the Sunset Strip. At many bars on the Sunset Strip, you have to grab a table well before the sun sets, and there is a minimum amount that you have to spend.
Kumharas (Sant Josep)
Kumharas is another one of my favorite laid-back, affordable options for lovely sunset vibes in Ibiza. Kumharas doesn’t take reservations, so be sure to be on time, especially in high season. The restaurant/bar has plenty of outdoor seating directly overlooking the beach and with a perfect front-row view of the sunset. The prizes for both food and drinks are very acceptable for Ibiza standards, and I like that many locals seem to enjoy this spot too.
Alma Sunset (Port des Torrent)
Well, once again, if you dare to put the word sunset in your beach bar’s name, you have to deliver. And Alma Sunset does. You’ll find Alma Sunset at the Port des Torrent beach. It’s a lovely bay, and you’ll have a perfect view of the Ibiza sunset here. I recommend you sit down, order a pitcher of sangria, and just wait and enjoy. Often, a DJ is playing some tunes to get you into the vibe.
Update 2023: Alma Sunset is now Tigre Morado Ibiza, I’m not sure what the vibe is like now, but the sunset is obviously still there!

- Money. Your debit and credit cards may not get accepted everywhere. You could opt for a Revolut card as an additional card when you travel.
- Package deals. Rather go on a catered trip? The Dutchies among us can try ANWB vakanties or Tui, but also check out Vakantie Discounter, D-reizen, Sunweb and Corendon.
- SIM card. Beware of unexpectedly high calling and internet costs. Buy a local SIM card when you arrive, or arrange one online via Airalo.
- Travel gear. Buy your gear at Bever or Decathlon, or simply at Bol.com.
- Yoga retreat. Or, treat yourself to a lovely yoga retreat in Ibiza.
